Zeroplast is cooperating with leading research centers on one of the most exciting topics in this day and age.

The initial results are very promising. In cooperation with our research partners, we were able to successfully produce the first monomers for our future bioplastic mixtures on a small scale. We did this by using microorganisms and adding CO2 and H2.

In the last 50 years, cheap raw materials made of petroleum were widely used. As a result, existing bio-based monomers with potential use in the future were often ignored or simply driven out of the market by cheaper copies manufactured from crude oil. As an organic alternative produced from CO2, these types of monomers will play an important role in the circular economy of the future. With cross-linking to useable biopolymers, the sky’s the limit.
